MeandMatilda Grey and Yellow Lattice Bow Tie

Bow Ties on Etsy

Etsy is a wonderful site for small, independent artisans and/or craft hobbyists to set up shop to share and sell their wares. Many of these individuals care a lot about fashion, and neckwear are an integral part of that. Thus, there’s no surprise that there are many bow ties for sale on the site.

Follow Bow Tie Aficionado’s board Bow Ties on Etsy.

The retailers provide a wide variety of ties. This variety includes different colors and patterns. Materials ranging from silk to tweed are available. The main different types — Batwing, Butterfly, and Diamond Point — are also represented.

As fashion-conscious crafters, Etsy sellers definitely encourage wearing ties at numerous types of events. These can range from weddings, soirees, galas, parties, dates, work, and portrait sessions. Thus, they collectively provide items that are either suitable for different events or tailored for specific purposes.

Can’t find a bow tie that grabs your attention? Don’t worry. Many of the sellers are willing to make custom ties.

What’s also great is that prices are reasonable. There’s a range, but most of the time their prices are comparable to what one can buy in stores.

However, pay attention to if the tie is pre-tied or not. Stick to ones that the wearer must tie themselves (sometimes referred to as “self-tie” or “freestyle”). The Aficionado feels that one should tie their own bow ties; it’s not that hard to learn.

So, what’s up with this Pinterest thing here on this post? Pinterest is a site enables people to curate pictures and videos that they find on the Internet into boards, which are collections based upon themes of the user’s own choosing. Since the original links are preserved from where they were pinned from, you can click on an item that interests you on the board embedded here. You’ll see a text prompting you to visit Etsy; follow that link to learn how you can purchase that particular item.

Note: I wasn’t contacted by any of the featured Etsy sellers. Visit the contact page if you’re interested in speaking with the Aficionado.
