Two Years of Bow Tie Aficionado
I started out writing shorter posts several times a week. That wasn’t too sustainable over the long run, but this flurry of posts enabled me to establish a corpus of content for the search engines to index and begin to rank them for several search terms. Soon I decreased my posting frequency to my current rate of a post a week. Part of the reason is that it was hard to think of so many things to write about so frequently. The nice thing about slowing down was that if I had a few ideas, I could write them all at once and schedule them. Thus, I could space out my writing efforts.
Fortunately, as time progressed, I enjoyed the help of a few contributors like Howard, Donald, and others. I appreciated their enthusiasm and willingness to pitch in.
I also appreciated others for reaching out to me. Several companies and makers sent me bow ties to review, and I enjoy testing out their ties. It’s been also fun to see people smile when they see one of the items that people send me to try out.
Since I’ve written a lot about bow ties over the past couple of years, I’ve learned plenty of interesting things about history, fashion, and why people love bow ties. Further, I’ve had to think hard about various topics and form opinions worth considering. Blogging has certainly increased my love and devotion to my favorite neckwear.
So, what’s next? First, I’m not going anywhere, but you may notice me post less frequently. While there’s certainly plenty to blog about, the site is shaping up nicely and is experiencing a steady growth in traffic. Having said that, I’m still more than willing to review bow ties; perhaps I’ll have one of my contributors do that as well. I’ll continue to post what Howard and others submit. So, please feel free send me your thoughts. Plus, stay tuned to my social feeds for a more steady stream of updates from me.
